How it works & privacy

Who can rate a company

Only people who have left a company can rate it: former employees, freelancers and contractors. This protects people from pressure by a current employer. Founders, owners, managers and HR staff are welcome to rate too. Their answers are shown as separate groups, never mixed into the worker ratings, so visitors can compare how leadership and workers each experienced the company.

How we verify

Everyone who rates needs a free account and must upload proof that they worked there, such as the first page of a contract, a payslip, an invoice, or a freelance platform contract. We check the proof privately and delete it as soon as the review is done. We also check that submissions are consistent, for example that the country someone submits from matches where they say they worked. VPNs are blocked on the submission page for this reason. Submissions that look fake are removed, whether they are positive or negative.

What we publish

We never publish written reviews, names or individual stories. People answer neutral, specific questions (for example “Was payment made by the agreed date?”), and we publish the combined answers as graphs. Pay is only ever shown as a range. A single person’s answers are never shown as a percentage.

Protecting the people who rate

Ratings are published with a delay of roughly 2 to 4 months after the person left the company, and the exact timing is never shown. For small companies we warn people before they submit that their former employer may still be able to guess who they are. We may delay or hold back details to protect someone. We cannot guarantee complete anonymity.

Public record

Company profiles may also show a “Public record”: events reported by news outlets, unions, courts or regulators, each with its date and a link to the source. These are public reports, not verified ratings, and allegations are not findings.

Companies

Any business can be listed, of any size. Individuals are never listed. Companies can dispute information they believe is inaccurate through our contact page, and we review every dispute fairly. Where a dispute is valid, we correct or remove the information. Companies cannot pay to change, remove or improve a rating, and they never see who submitted.

Your data

  • Your name and email are used only to manage your account and verify submissions. They are never shown publicly or shared with companies.
  • Your username is the only name visible in the community.
  • Proof documents are deleted after review. Your location at submission is used only for verification.
  • This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers.
  • You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time through the contact page.

Our principle

Accountability, not punishment. Ratings show change over time, so a company that improves how it treats people will see that reflected in newer results.
