2. Which data we process and why

Account: your name, email address and username. We need them to manage your account and to check ratings. They are never published or passed on to companies. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Proof of employment: the document you upload to show that you worked there. We check it privately and delete it as soon as the check is done. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Ratings: we publish your answers only as combined results, without names and with a delay. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in genuine ratings (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Location check: when you submit, we check your IP address to detect VPNs and to see whether your location fits the country of the company. For this, the IP address is sent to the service proxycheck.io. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Emails: you only get the weekly scam warnings if you sign up and confirm your address. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).

Server: our hosting provider Hostinger stores technically necessary access data (for example IP address and time of the visit) so that the site runs securely.

Fonts: this site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers and your IP address is sent to Google.

3. Cookies and statistics

We set necessary cookies (for example for logging in) without asking. We only load Google Analytics and embedded YouTube videos if you choose "Accept" in the banner. You can change your choice at any time under "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. Data may be transferred to the USA.

4. How long we keep data

Proof documents: until the check is finished. Account data: until you ask us to delete your account. Data we must keep by law: as long as the law requires.

5. Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and you can object to processing. You can withdraw a consent at any time with effect for the future. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
