1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use getreverseref.com (ReverseRef), run by J AND J ASSOCIATIONS (PTY) LTD, registration number 2021/851648/07, 617 Pretoria Rd, 0184 Silverton, Gauteng, South Africa. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use ReverseRef.
2. Who may use ReverseRef
You must be 18 or older. Employees, freelancers and contractors may only rate a company after they have left it; current staff cannot rate their employer. Managers, HR staff, founders and owners can rate their company too, in their own groups, and they do not need to have left.
3. Your account
Give us true details and keep your login private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may close accounts that break these terms.
4. Ratings
- Rate only a company you really worked for, once for each period of work.
- Answer honestly. Do not rate for money, as a favour, or to harm a competitor.
- Do not upload proof that is forged or belongs to someone else.
- Do not use a VPN or other tools to hide where you are.
We check proof before a rating counts. We publish ratings only as combined results, without names and with a delay. We may refuse, hold back or remove a rating that breaks these terms or our Community Guidelines.
You give us a free, worldwide right to show your answers as part of the combined results for as long as the rating stays on ReverseRef.
5. What ReverseRef shows
The results are based on the answers of people who worked there, shown in separate groups: employees and freelancers, management, and founders. They are their experience, not our opinion and not proven fact. They can be incomplete, especially when a company has only a few ratings. We show the number of ratings so that you can judge this.
6. Companies
A company that believes a rating is false or breaks our rules can write to complaints@getreverseref.com. We look at each case and remove ratings that are shown to be false or against our rules. We do not remove ratings just because they are unfavourable.
7. Paid products
Some products (for example guides, the quiz and memberships) are paid. Prices are shown before you buy. Our payment provider Paddle handles the order and the payment. Memberships renew until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Digital products can be used straight away. If something is wrong with a purchase, write to us within 14 days and we will put it right or refund you. See our Refund Policy.
8. Our content
The texts, design, guides and reports on ReverseRef belong to us. You may use them for yourself, but you may not copy, resell or republish them without our permission.
9. Acceptable use
Do not try to break, scrape or overload the site, collect other users' data, or use ReverseRef for anything unlawful.
10. Our responsibility
We work hard to keep ReverseRef accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. Our guides and reports are general information, not legal, financial or career advice. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on them. Nothing here limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other law that cannot be limited.
11. Changes and law
We may change these terms. The date below shows the latest version. South African law applies, and the South African courts may decide disputes, without taking away any consumer rights you have where you live.
