Community Guidelines

ReverseRef only works if the ratings are real. These rules keep them real and fair.

Who can rate

Employees, freelancers and contractors can rate once they have left a company. Current staff cannot rate. Managers, HR staff, founders and owners can rate too, in their own groups, and they do not need to have left. Their answers are never mixed into the worker ratings.

What we ask of you

  • Rate only where you really worked, and answer honestly.
  • Rate once for each period of work.
  • Do not rate because you were paid, asked or pressured to.
  • Do not use ReverseRef to settle a personal dispute with a named person. The questions are about the company, not about individuals.

What is not allowed

  • Forged or borrowed proof, fake accounts and repeat ratings
  • VPNs or other tools that hide your location
  • Threats, abuse, discrimination or personal details about others
  • Pretending to be someone you are not, for example a company posting as a former employee, or rating a competitor

If a company disagrees

A company can write to complaints@getreverseref.com and tell us what it thinks is wrong. We look at the rating again. If it is false or breaks these rules, we remove it. Ratings are not removed because they are unfavourable.

What we do

We check every rating before it counts, publish only combined results with a delay, and may refuse, hold back or remove ratings that break these rules.
